A Baseball Nightmare

It’s probably an indication that I have been watching too much news lately that two nights ago I had  a dream (nightmare?) that the baseball team I was coaching had a rather disagreeable player on the roster by the name of Donny Trump. For some reason, the team was in a position where he had to be included in the lineup although it was well known that he would be a liability to our chances of winning. Meanwhile, he kept insisting that he needed to pitch in a critical upcoming game, claiming that he was far and away the best option to be on the mound. My distinct challenge was to hide him somewhere in the lineup where he might do the least amount of damage to our winning chances while enduring his endless insistence that he was the best pitcher in the league. The dream ended with the feeling that we were stuck with this guy as we prepared to play the most important game of our lives.

The unconscious holds many truthsq; in this case, it provided the perfect metaphor for the recent American political experience!
