The Politics of Expediency

The ongoing subtext to the dysfunctional Presidential narrative was shamelessly articulated by none other than Lindsey Graham earlier today when he unapologetically declared that Trump will continue to receive his support as long as the preferred Supreme Court nominees are confirmed, tax cuts for the 1% are made permanent, 'entitlement' programs are slashed, the bloated military is fed a steady and increasing diet from the national treasury, and wealth disparity is maintained indefinitely. His only proviso was that he required DJT to replace Sessions with a confirmable AG and that the Mueller investigation be allowed to proceed to its natural conclusion. In other words, the status quo is acceptable as long as it continues to service the extreme right-wing agenda proscribed by the Federalists/Mercer/Koch/Project For a New American Century overseers and until such time the current momentum is stopped (temporarily) by the legal findings of Robert Mueller. Soon thereafter, Graham and the other legislators who do the bidding of the their corporate masters will be more than happy to usher in Mike Pence to perpetuate the assault on our democracy as the tail of the dinosaur wreaks havoc upon our societal landscape while in the midst of its death throe.
